27th January 2021
Due to the Corona Virus pandemic we were unable to use the Wilnecote branch as before due to difficulty in maintaining a safe service in the building shared with other services.. All our patients deserve a high quality healthcare service but for a number of reasons we feel unable to deliver the services we would like to from this branch.
Hence the partners of the surgery propose that the Wilnecote branch surgery be closed from April 2021. For the Partners of Trinity Surgery the decision to request the closure of the branch surgery has not been taken lightly. Over the past few months we have tried various solutions to keep the branch surgery open. However, the national shortage of GPs has led to difficulty in recruitment of permanent doctors, and due to the Covid pandemic, with GPs and staff needing to isolate, difficulty in providing an isolation room for patients with Covid symptoms and many other issues, it has been necessary to move all appointments to our main site at Stonydelph.
Moving forward, in the months to come, we at Trinity Surgery are proposing to merge with Crown Medical Practice, located in Tamworth town centre. Both existing sites will remain, and patients will have increased access to services, with more GPs, advanced nurse practitioners and practice nurses.
We are keen to gain your views on this matter and therefore we are commencing a period of consultation on the proposed closure of the Wilnecote branch surgery
